The Private Pilot License is the most common starting point for aviators. It allows you to fly a single-engine aircraft and carry passengers (friends, family, or coworkers) day or night in good weather.
An Instrument Rating is an “add-on” to your Private or Commercial license. It trains you to fly solely by referencing the cockpit instruments, allowing you to fly through clouds and in low-visibility conditions.
The Commercial Pilot License is what allows you to legally be paid for your services as a pilot. It requires a higher level of precision and mastery than the Private license.
The Sport Pilot License is a faster, more affordable way to get into the air. It limits you to flying “Light Sport Aircraft” (LSA)—smaller, two-seat planes—during the day and in good weather.
A Certified Flight Instructor – Sport is authorized to provide training specifically for the Sport Pilot certificate in Light Sport Aircraft.
